Forget the Shaker Cup: Ways You Can Use Protein Powders Other Than in Smoothies

With the holiday season just three months ahead, you might be planning to lose some weight before spring comes and before your winter clothes that have been hiding your extra kilos are put away. When it comes to weight loss, adding protein powder to your diet is an effective way to help you shed some extra kilos as it helps regulate your appetite and satiates hunger. It is also a convenient way to get the required amount of protein essential for a successful diet.

One of the most common ways to take protein powder is through smoothies – just add your protein powder to a blender with milk, fruit or greens and you are ready to go. Although this is a practical and delicious way to adding protein to your diet, protien powders are a versatile product that can be used in many other ways.

In Your Oatmeal

One of the easiest ways to enjoy the benefits of protien powders in your breakfast meal. Instead of simply tossing it in a smoothie, you can try sprinkling some protein powder to your oatmeal – it will add a boost of flavor to your meal and give you a lot of energy at the start of the day. It will also keep you fuller for longer.

In Your Recipes

There are so many recipes that include protein powders that you can try. You can add it to your brownies, cupcakes, bread…the possibilities are endless.

To Cook Savory Dishes

There are quite a few dishes you can cook with protein powder. Examples include a quiche and a homemade veggie burger – put half a scoop of pea protein into your dinner to get an extra boost of nutrients. Soups and curries are other dishes that you can add a small amount of powder protein as well.

To Make Popsicles and Ice Cream

Upgrade your favorite dessert by putting a scoop of protein powder into your mixing bowl. You can also add some protein in your popsicle recipe or try this one:
